BEET ROOT AND CARROT JUICE JAMAICAN STYLE|HOW TO MAKE HEALTHIER JUICE CHOICES

Updated: Dec 17, 2020

Wah gwaan KINGS and QUEEN !!!!!!

Today I'll be sharing a recipe that is very near and dare to me, because my mother use to prepare this most Sunday evenings, with our good up good up rice and peas and chicken or you know the do any traditional Sunday dish in Jamaica.

It's a healthy yet sweet way to consume vegetables without picking up a trace.

Even now as a adult It's still a fav of mine and mi nuh joke fi rax it up!

I'm personally not a big fan of eating beets but blending it with other fruits and vegetables to mask the taste works for me.

Are you a beetroot fan? leave your comments below.....

On the flip side I could eat carrots raw, cooked and blended lol.....

Have you ever tried frozen carrot slices as a snack? Thank me later ok*winks. It's so refreshing, crunchy and delicious.

INGREDIENTS

8 Carrots peeled and chopped

2 large Beetroot peeled and chopped

Water or unsweetened milk I used water

1 cup of Condensed Milk or sweetened to taste

1 tsp of Vanilla

3/4 tsp Nutmeg

1/2 tsp of ground Cinnamon

HOW TO MAKE THE CARROT AND BEETROOT JUICE

Start with washing and peeling the carrots and beetroot.

Chop beetroot and carrots into smaller pieces. Afterwards add them to a pot of boiling water. When blending them you would use the same water that it was boiled in.

OR

Chop beetroot and carrot chunks before adding them to the blender. Depending on how powerful your blender is, 3 inches chunks should be fine.

Add milk (or water) to the blender and blend until smooth.

Strain with a fine mesh strainer.

Then add sugar or your favourite sweetener depending on which method you used above. Add nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla extract.

Most Yardie add dragon or guinness to the mix and the measurement does depend on the amount your making. Keep in mind they are alcohol so if your serving kids be careful.
